The Embassy maintains a reference library within its' premises which is open to the general public on working days from 8.30 a.m to 12.30 p.m and 1.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.The library has a modest collection of books on Japan covering a wide range of fields including information as regards Universities and Colleges in Japan, Japanese life style and culture etc. A few pamphlets of some Universities and Technical Colleges are also available.

Japanese Newspapers, magazines, Japanese encyclopedia and other books are available for reading and reference. The library does not loan any books. A few photocopied hand-outs on various subjects on Japan and a booklet with colour pictures entitled "Niponica" are provided free of charge at the Library to students and others interested in obtaining such material. The Library also has a collection of video presentations on Japan which can be loaned by schools and other registered organizations. Visitors may also view NHK Japanese TV channel live on TV at the Library. Membership is not required to use the library. Admission will be granted on production of your National Identity Card at the entrance to the Embassy. |
