Ambassador of Japan welcomes JDS scholarship fellows at his residence

JDS fellows, senior officials from the Government of Sri Lanka, and Hon. Dr. Harsha De Silva,  Deputy Minister of National Politics and Economic Affairs
 with H.E. Mr. Kenichi Suganuma, Ambassador of Japan


  The Government of Japan has been conducted a Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resources Development Scholarship (JDS) Program since 2010 to train and develop the skills of young executive officers in the public sector, hoping them to become future national leaders and contribute to the national development of Sri Lanka, especially in formulating and implementing the national development plans. Through the JDS program, 90 public sector officials have been provided the opportunity to study two-year master’s degree programs in the fields of public policy, public finance, economics, business management, and environmental management at prominent universities in Japan.  
 
H.E. Mr. Kenichi Suganuma, Ambassador of Japan, hosted the reception at his residence on 21st February 2018, with the presence of Hon. Dr. Harsha De Silva, Deputy Minister of National Politics and Economic Affairs as chief guest, in order to welcome the returned JDS scholarship fellows.  The Ambassador stated that the Government of Japan expects the JDS fellows to exercise their leaderships in development of Sri Lanka with academic knowledge and experiences acquired in Japan and to contribute to further strengthening bilateral relationships between Japan and Sri Lanka.
