H.E. Ambassador Mizukoshi attended a business event co-hosted by the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sri Lanka (JCCI-SL) and the Sri Lanka – Japan Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (SLJBC)

On 12th December 2022, H.E. Ambassador Mizukoshi attended“Sri Lanka-Japan: The Way Forward in Bilateral Trade and Investment”, a business event co-hosted by the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sri Lanka (JCCI-SL) and the Sri Lanka – Japan Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (SLJBC).


JCCI-SL and SLJBC have been the driving force in promoting businesses between Japan and Sri Lanka over many years. This is the first-ever business event initiated by both organizations.


Hon. Semasinghe, State Minister of Finance, H.E. Ambassador Perera and other government representatives including from Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Export Development Board also participated in this event and had an active exchange of views on challenges on business between both countries and future prospects.


On top of his remarks, Ambassador MIzukoshi introduced, as initiatives to promote business cooperation between Japan and Sri Lanka, the “Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM)”, signed between both countries in October this year and the “Osaka Kansai, Japan EXPO 2025” which will be scheduled in April 2025.
 
It is hoped that the future-oriented discussions at this event would further promote bilateral business relationship.
