Prof. Ananda Kumara Received the Foreign Minister's Commendation

On 15th September, H. E. MIZUKOSHI Hideaki, Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka conferred the Foreign Minister's Commendation on Prof. Ananda Kumara, President / Vice chancellor of Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute (LNBTI). 
 

The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas. The Commendations also aim to promote the understanding and support of the Japanese public for the activities of the recipients.
 

Prof. Ananda Kumara has made immeasurable contributions to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between our two countries. He has been playing a significant role in the field of education, nurturing Japanese youth as globally active human resources for a long time at various universities in Japan. In addition, he has established LNBTI, which is distinguished in terms of developing IT engineers that are readily accepted by the Japanese society by teaching not only IT but also Japanese language and Japanese business culture. Prof. Kumara’s efforts are not limited in the field of education but he has paved the way for meaningful relationship in various areas. LNBTI contributes to solving economic challenges in both countries by providing IT human capital in Japan and revitalizing Sri Lankan economy through earning foreign currency. Furthermore, he has been contributing to cultural interactions between Japan and Sri Lanka on various occasions, including Bon Odori festival last year, with his dedication by involving LNBTI students as active participants, which brilliantly decorated the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between Japan and Sri Lanka.
 

In his remarks, Ambassador Mizukoshi extended his warm congratulations to Prof. Kumara on his receiving the Foreign Minister's Commendation and expressed his deepest respect for his tireless efforts to the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and Sri Lanka. He further highlighted the uniqueness of LNBTI and emphasized his sincere hope that this acclaimed institute will educate many talented young students in Sri Lanka under the superb guidance of Prof. Kumara and they will become active contributors to economic development both in Japan and Sri Lanka.
                     
It is hoped that this auspicious event would further develop the friendly relationship between Japan and Sri Lanka.
