Ambassador ISOMATA met with the Governor of the Central Province and visited the Kandy City Wastewater Treatment Plant

On the afternoon of April 17, Ambassador ISOMATA paid a courtesy call on Hon. Prof. Sarath Abeykoon, Governor of the Central Province. During their meeting, they reflected on the longstanding relationship between Japan and the Central Province and exchanged views on ways to further strengthen ties, particularly in the Kandy District.

Following the meeting, Ambassador ISOMATA visited the Kandy City Wastewater Treatment Plant, which was constructed under an ongoing yen loan project aimed at enhancing the hygienic environment and improving the living conditions of the local community through the development of sewage treatment facilities in Kandy City.

This visit has provided Ambassador with valuable insight into the challenges faced by the local population and the critical role this project plays in addressing them.
