Wadaiko Daigen-gumi captivated about 1,000 people at the University of Moratuwa and the University of Peradeniya

Wadaiko Daigen-gumi, a group of professional wadaiko (Japanese traditional drums) performers captivated the audience of about 1,000 people at the University of Moratuwa and the University of Peradeniya in total during their stay in Sri Lanka from 6th to 9th October.

University students, faculty members, school children, and others enjoyed amazing and dynamic rhythm of traditional wadaiko and interactions with performers who had flown all the way from Japan. These events, which were organised by the Embassy of Japan and the universities, provided an opportunity for the audience to experience Japanese culture firsthand. The Embassy extends its gratitude to SriLankan Airlines, the official air travel partner for these events, for its valuable cooperation.
