Japanese ships “IZUMO” and “SAZANAMI” visit Colombo

Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force(JMSDF) ships “IZUMO(DDH-183)” and “SAZANAMI(DD-113)” make a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka from 20^th to 23^rd July, 2017.  “IZUMO”, a Helicopter Destroyer, is the biggest ship of the JMSDF, which can operate 5 Helicopters simultaneously. They have made several friendly visits to countries like Singapore and Vietnam and have participated in bilateral and multilateral exercises during their voyages.
 
 
The ships’ visit will contribute to enhance relations by conducting several programs including ship visits, friendly sports exchange and joint exercise with Sri Lanka Navy.
