His Majesty the Emperor's Birthday Reception 2022

The Embassy of Japan hosted a reception to celebrate the 62nd birthday of His Majesty, the Emperor of Japan, on 23 February at the Ambassador’s Official Residence with the Guest of Honor, Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma, Minister of Mass Media and many other distinguished guests including the Speaker and other Cabinet Ministers. The reception also marked the auspicious beginning of the 70th year of the diplomatic relationship between Japan and Sri Lanka.
Ambassador MIZUKOSHI expressed his gratitude to all the guests who participated this special occasion to celebrate the His Majesty the Emperor’s birthday and to strengthen the friendly relationship between Japan and Sri Lanka. Ambassador MIZUKOSHI also wished the further progress and prosperity of the people of Sri Lanka and enhancement of the cordial relationship between the two countries.
The reception offered a great occasion to showcase the wide range of cooperation between the two countries through the ODA projects and Japanese companies. The guests also enjoyed authentic Japanese cuisine and culture, such as Ikebana (Japanese art of flower arrangement) and sake tasting.
